Bruno Zirilli
Navigator – Performance analyst
An old acquaintance of Phi!Number, Bruno is graduated in engineering and as a professional Navigator he works in the most important international sailing scene. After an experience in Laser4000 skiff class, he worked his way up to participate in two editions of the America’s Cup, first in the Italian team of +39 Challenge and then in the Hispanic team of Desafìo Español.
For more than 10 years he’s been involved in the Italian-Argentine crew of Azzurra with whom, just to name a few of his victories, he has conquered a Louis Vuitton Trophy, four times the very competitive TP52 Super Series circuit and a World Championship in its category. CONI Gold Medal for Athletic Valour, he can also proudly claim two Maxi72 World Championships (once MiniMaxi) and an ARC Atlantic Rally.
In addition to his role as race Navigator – where he is also responsible for instrumentation and developer of on-board software systems – Bruno is Phi!Number’s guru for consultancy on navigation, instrumentation (installation and calibration) and performance analysis. In collaboration with Phi!Number he also developed an educational path to teach how to become a regatta Navigator.
