Optimizer and Yacht Designer
Expert and meticulous sailor, he has achieved important goals both on the regatta fields and in the design. Matteo graduated in Southampton in Yacht and Powercraft Design. Starting off with an apprenticeship at Starkel studio and 2emmemarine shipyard led him to follow the optimisation of several successful boats such as the ‘M37 Low Noise owned by Giuffre’ and the design of the new IY998 Low Noise 2, both Phi!Number’s projects.
After several projects by his side, Phi!Number chose him as the reference designer, especially for his ability to think of numbers without ever neglecting his racing experience and the precious sensations of the crews who work with him. This approach has led him to design and optimise numerous racing boats, translating his mathematical considerations into speed and efficiency of the tonnage certificates.
In addition to his collaboration with Phi!Number, Matteo designs for Grand Soleil and is chief designer of Italia Yachts, for which he coordinated the design and construction of the most important and fastest cruiser racers on the market.
